Review of Veronika Decides to Die (2009) by Serena V — 08 Mar 2010
The story is translated into a more modern context, and most of the emotion and depth is felt in the subtleties and nuances of the film. Even the music played an integral part in the way the story was told.
The performances are expressive yet controlled in a way that makes one appreciate the saying: "still waters run deep." As film adaptations go, I think this was pretty good, with the underlying message of the book kept intact - awareness of life and the miracle of being alive every day.
