Review of Veronica Mars (2014) by Alexander Z — 16 Mar 2014
There is no question about it: I am biased when it comes to this. Not only did I LOVE and care about this show, but I paid for this movie. I have no idea if people who never watched the show will enjoy it, but I can't bring myself to watch it from that perspective.
I guess one could say that the script circles vaguely around a "this-week's-mystery" sorta plot, but the show was never really about who did whatever. It was about the characters from the top down being so well written and fun to listen to at all times.
For me this was an endless parade of fictitious people I was happy to see. The entire movie has the same warmth, humor and self awareness (note the address of the film's chief informant) as the series, and if this is the last we'll see of the denizens of Neptune, I think this is kind of finale the show's fans can be happy with.
..not that I wouldn't throw down a couple bones for another t-shirt and a sequel...
