At first I hated the movie. It seemed to give up on every character progression made by the main character, Veronica, throughout the TV series, (yes, you need to watch the show first) but after watching it again I realized something; it isn't meant to show progress.
People are flawed, and no matter what you do, that can't be cured. That seems to be the running theme throughout the show and the movie. Afterall, she is an addict.
