Review of Vera Drake (2004) by Brian B — 18 Sep 2007
Vera Drake was a tremendously well acted picture. Although Imelda Staunton and the entire cast are absolutely spectacular, this movie just has way too many things left unfinished. I definately feel that they should have extended the end of this film at least fifteen minutes and closed up all the loose ends.
The movie just kind of ends and leaves you sitting there thinking, wow is this really it? What happened to all this stuff? The main story is pretty much tied together and that is enough for some people and the acting is definately good enough to make this movie worth watching.
Overall 3.0/4 Stars Grade = B-.
