Review of Venus (2011) by David Q — 12 Aug 2007
Everything you've heard about Peter O'Toole's performance is true. "Venus" is his film and he overshadows everyone else. Jodie Whittaker is good in her role but shows her inexperience when coupled with O'Toole.
if Forrest Whitaker was nominated in the correct category, O'Toole would have a Best Actor statue. it's no surprise that this is a British film, as no studio in Hollywood would finance a picture where old people still think about sex.
