Review of Venus (2010) by Michael K — 31 Dec 2007
Hanif Kureishi scripted film about an elderly actor who finds himself attracted to his actor friend's teenage great-niece. This was Peter O'Toole's eighth Oscar nomination and was another worthy one as his aging lothario develops intentions towards his friend's home help.
Taking influences from Harold And Maude, with a mix of That Obscure Object Of Desire, it's a lovely little film, well acted, a witty script and a story of a relationship that is always believable.
Worth a look definitely.
