Review of Venus (2010) by Lawrence J — 04 Jan 2008
"Venus" is a darker comedy--a psychological study of age difference interrupted by snappy exchanges between two wonderful veteran actors, Leslie Phillips and Peter O'Toole. But even though O'Toole's character was lovable, even in his questionable taste in women, his opposite (the twentysomething love interest) lacked the charisma necessary to make the audience sympathetic to her character.
