A wonderful requiem of a film.
Peter O'Toole is precise as always playing Maurice and Leslie Phillips of 'Carry On...' fame is the perfect sidekick for O'Toole, and although Leslie is the source for most of the humour in the film he also delivers a performance of moving pathos. His and O'Toole's chemistry is magnificent to behold. However Jodie Whittaker has to be commended for her assured performance, especially in such company, as she holds her own and delivers a delicate, yet spirited performance as Venus.
