Sorry, this movie is so fucking despicable at times. But it's so well acted by O'Toole and cast and the story does come together rather well, that it must get due credit. Disgusting it is and Maurice is one of the dirtier, creepier old men in movie history, but his scenes with Vanessa Redgrave and his scenes alone are to absolutely marvel over.
So I don't like it, but can't help but respect it.
