Review of Venus (2006) by Paul T — 19 Aug 2008
Watch Venus for the rare opportunity of seeing a couple of fine elder statesmen of the acting fraternity (O'Toole, Phillips) who are still at the top of their game, and bouncing their performances off an equally polished one from charismatic newcomer Jodie Whittaker.
While the overall tone is a tad uneven, Venus stiill offers up a quite unique, often challenging and very moving cinematic experience.
