Review of Venus (2006) by James J — 10 Jun 2010
Peter O'Toole was fantastic in this film. In fact the cast all around were extremely good in the film. I loved the interplay and chemistry between Leslie Phillips and Peter O'Toole's characters it was hilarious and really established a great rhythm within the film.
There are so few films that showcase older actors and have stories that involve them. After watching Venus I think of filmmakers should take note and create more pieces like this its hilarious but heart-breaking and some of the scenes are little disturbingly awkward but it has more heart and spirit than most films I've seen.
Roger Mitchell is an amazing filmmaker not only are his films consistently good, he express a very versatile way of making his films.
