Review of Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) by Tvjerry — 05 Oct 2021
The original Venom wasn’t special and this one continues that unfortunate trend. Tom Hardy returns as the unassuming writer who’s possessed by the weird Marvel character, one that lurks inside his body but emerges as a hideously scary monster craving human brains.
Much of the early time is spent with the inner conflict between the 2 of them, but there is a villain (Woody Harrelson) to complicate things. By the time the action hits full gear, it’s a CGI show…humans move to the rear, while the computers fight it out.
Overall, there’s nothing new or interesting in the writing, direction or approach and Hardy is only mildly appealing.
