Review of Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) by Moviemitch96 — 01 Oct 2021
Second verse, same as the first. Tom Hardy returns as the titular symbiotic alien who next finds himself going up against an escaped prison inmate (Woody Harrelson) who has adapted into the symbiote known as Carnage.
There's really not a whole lot to unpack here. It's got the usual stuff you'd expect in a comic book movie. Plenty of mayhem and destruction to go around, and Michelle Williams returns to play the damsel in distress.
There's not much in the way of story apart from the action either. Really the biggest highlight here is Harrelson's performance, but overall, there's no reason to go into this expecting much, and thankfully it breezes by at only an hour and a half runtime.
