Not bad by any means but could have been so much more. The cast is fine, Tom Hardy is great as Eddie Brock, Riz Ahmed plays is a fine villain for most of the film but Jenny Slate is criminally underutilized in a side role.
Venom is also really cool when hes on screen and it's better use of the character than what we got in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3. There was so much potential here, We could have gotten an R rated psychological thriller that delves into the mind of one of Spider-Man's most complex and greatest foe, we got a watchable action movie that feels like it was made in the early 2000s.
