Ultimately, despite my person early opinion that Venom cannot exist without Spider-man, I believe the writers and director did a great job creating a Venom character as true to the character as they could while being disconnected from the overall MCU.
That said, I truly will hold on to hope that we see Spider-man and Venom in the same movie in the future. If you'r a fan of a good time at the movies, don't miss this one.
