The Venom Movie is a bad movie, Sony have shown time and time again that they could make a great movie but then mess it up somehow because of money, out of all the properties they own to make movies on, they always love to do something with Spider-Man, they started off great with the Sam Raimi trilogy, then things went weird when they started the Amazing Spider-Man movies, they started trying to be like the Dark Knight trilogy and then in the sequel they were trying to be like the MCU, then we have some characters from Spider-Man in the MCU, however Sony still owned the rights and decided that in order to keep the full rights, they had to make their own shared universe like Marvel & DC, and they called it the Spider-Man Villain Universe, so they started it with this movie on what many people consider to be the best villain in all of Spider-Man, Venom.

The trailers didn't make me so sure on the movie and now I know why that was, because after watching the movie, I realized that the movie was actually crap, the main issue is that Venom and Eddie Brock are boring characters without Carnage and Spider-Man, but even then the character is always a stick in the mutt for me, I had a decent exposure to Venom but I didn't know much about him, Spider-Man 3 could've helped but it made me not enjoy seeing the character, it wasn't until I watched the episodes on the symbiote story in The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon where he was redeemed for me, then all the ones after that were decent to not so special, and so this movie killed him from being enjoyable to me.

This movie's story is odd, lazy and questionable without Spider-Man, the characters go from decent to crap, acting is half good, half bad, the CGI on Venom is better this time around than in Spider-Man 3 (than again that's not really an achievement), the action scenes are decent, the music is pretty good but not better than most other superhero movies and only one of the jokes is funny.

This movie is trying to be edgy and the bad thing is that it pulls a Suicide Squad where the get the villain and turn them into the hero, and the jokes are unneeded when they advertise this as a serious movie.

This an example of why Sony needs to let go the rights to all the remaining Spider-Man characters and not make movies on Spider-Man characters ever again, I don't see how Venom can be redeemed for me after this movie, fingers crossed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be good and I believe it will be.

I'd say wait until the DVD release or wait till it airs on TV to watch this movie, don't waste your money on Venom and go see a better movie.

I give the Venom Movie a 4.5 out of 10, don't think I'll be redeemed with Venom again as I can't trust people with the character, unless you're the people who worked on The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon, I can definitely say that this is the WORST SUPERHERO MOVIE OF THE YEAR!!!
