I honestly don't understand the hate around this movie. Yes, it's a time-tested yet formulaic movie, but it DOES work. Tom Hardy is hilarious and Ahmed is brilliant yet underutilized. If you're coming in hoping to see the venom of the comics you're probably going to be disappointed, but as someone coming in with little knowledge of the franchise I think it works very well as an action/comedy.
