Sooo... I'm sure its an unpopular opinion, but remind me again why all the hate for Venom????

I had a lot of fun watching that film. There were a few plot issues(like tech guys with military grade gear blowing up dt san fran) and with way to fast of a narrative, ie no real time to "learn/bond" and have an origin story of sorts... but tbh it just jumped to all the fun stuff and setup an interesting character.

Another thought, just like in The Predator(new one), suddenly the supporting female had to be part of the final showdown too... even if that meant her being an olympic class marathon runner to get to where she was at just the right time against all odds... it was bad writing/placating in both movies.

All that aside, I would give it a solid 3/5.. and just a "fun movie enjoy it for what it is" sort of thing. It was no worse than iron man 3(still imo the worst current marvel movie to date) and no worse than Transformers in the entertainment department.
