Review of Venom (2018) by Dylan B — 03 Oct 2018

The pacing was snappy, and it spent the right amount of time moving through the expositionary bits, while spending just the right amount of time on the meat. Tom Hardy and the dynamic between him and the Venom character was excellent, and while the villain (other than Venom ;) ) and final showdown were generic, the rest of the movie was thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable. I especially liked the fast-paced, visceral fight scene in the 3rd quarter - one of my favorite superhero-movie fights in a long time.

All in all, Venom was a fun, dare I say refreshingly entertaining romp. Really back-to-basics comic book movie.
