Review of Velvet Goldmine (1998) by Hunter D — 16 Nov 2007
Glam rock mixed with a healthy dose of Oscar Wilde. Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Ewan McGregor play pastiches of David Bowie and Iggy Pop respectively, and the result is pretty interesting. It got really head-scratching towards the end, but Todd Haynes gives the movie a feel that's as slick and as shiny as the era he portrays that will captivate you one hundred percent of the way.
