Velvet Goldmine, although a stylish and colorful movie is pretty disappointing in it's story and coverage of the subject matter. Here we are following a reporter (Christian Bale) who's trying to find out about whatever happened to some cheesy, glam rock musician.
The film is told in boring and tiresome flashbacks and I couldn't help but ponder "Why should I care about these people?" Particularly the character of "Brian Slade" who's basically just some mediocre Bowie rip-off.
who couldn't be more annoying with his pouty attitude.
