Review of Velvet Goldmine (1998) by Eva O — 09 Jan 2010
Based around the Glam Rock era, with definite influences from David Bowie, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Marc Bolan.
Loved certain elements, but something in this film stops me from being totally enthralled by it! McGregor's obvious portrayal of an early David Bowie type character are well researched and McGregor plays his part with conviction. Shame it just didn't have the spark which would have promoted this film to a classic, rather than just an "average" movie!
