Wow, what a mess. There are great actors involved, and wonderful talent behind the songs. But this film is a mess. Too many song performances drag it down, those could have been cut down by half. There really isn't any character to care about, save for the suffering wife.
Most are selfish, indulgent jerks. I was glad when it was over, but disappointed I didn't like it. It seems everyone really put their best effort into it, especially Ewan McGregor. Haynes just dropped the ball.
