Review of Vehicle 19 (2013) by Wesley C — 23 Feb 2014
This movie starts out quite slow, with the main character as unrealistic as possible. The cinematography is horrid; shot in a closeup pan-and-scan manner indicative of a generation of film makers raised entirely in front of the television with no comprehension of how the movies they watched growing up were edited for the small screen, losing two thirds of the intend frame.
Paul Walker's character is illogical at best, but the bad acting does improve once the he finds the woman in the back of the vehicle. Her character is very strong as is the policeman during the film's climax. Although we all know no such policeman has ever existed. He epitomizes the unrealistic dream cop, who became a policeman to honestly help others.
Once we get past the rocky, illogical start, the story is not so bad. And I found myself thinking, on occasion, of the eery foreshadowing of Mr. Walker's own horrible demise. For that, I wish I had seen the film first so as not to be distracted at such things.
