Review of Veer-Zaara (2004) by Kody N — 12 Jun 2008
The English Patient goes Bollywood...at least that is what this movie felt like. It was the whole telling of a love story (over a couple of days) and as much as I enjoyed it, there really wasn't much to go back and ponder and want to see.
I love Bollywood. The movies feel like the cross of Spanish novelas and modern 50's musicals with advertisements, but somehow they work really well. Maybe it's the unforgiving culture that they are laden with or maybe it's because it nice good clean entertainment.
I don't know. This movie was nothing compared to Krrish but I enjoyed it anyway. It's called an Epic Love Story, but I can't really see why...except for it's 3 hours long. And in my book, anything over 3 hours is considered epic.
