Review of Varsity Blues (1999) by Owen R — 18 Jun 2008
Eh...okay. That's about the only word used to sum this up.
James Van Der Beek is reprising his role as Dawson Leery, and everyone else acts like a single unit without any sense of personality. Save for maybe Ali Larter and her whip cream bikini.
If anything, watch this movie for Jon Voight. Seeing him in a constant state of fury is incredibly entertaining, and he dominates each scene. Not quite sure what got him to sign on, but who cares. Varsity Blues is a fun little movie, but don't expect much realism unless your Health teacher just happens to have a part-time job at a strip joint.
