Review of Vantage Point (2008) by Rachel H — 30 Oct 2010
The only reason this movie even gets a 40% is that the story is interesting and it started out really well, but flatlined towards the end. If this review was based solely on the acting, this wouldn't even get a rating it would be so horrible.
I've bashed the acting, so you're probably wondering why I would do so. Well, Dennis Quaid just plain sucked. So did Matthew Fox, Forest Whitaker, and pretty much every actor in this damn movie. It could have been really good if it had been cast differently, but it wasn't, so it isn't very good.
The premise is incredibly interesting and I think it was a really cool idea to tell the story from different points of view, but the points of view were very scatterbrained and the neat little bow that they tied it up with at the end was bad. I mean, just horrible. What really gets me about this movie is that it was disappointing, it could have been really good if a bit more effort was put towards it, but there was little to no effort in it, so it ended up sucking.
Just skip this movie. It was horrible and incredibly forgettable. Filled with bland performances and actionless action scenes, it just plain sucks.
