Review of Vantage Point (2008) by Michelle B — 22 Jan 2012
"8 Strangers. 8 Points Of View. 1 Truth.".
An intensely captivating and pulse-poundingly mindblowingly intense action we thats a completely pure adrenaline rush from beginning to end. It's unlike anything that ive ever seen. Endlessly cool and wickedly action-packed all of the way through the film, one of the most uniquely original and nerve-shreddingly gratifying film to hit the screen in quite some time. Vantage Point had me absolutely pinned to me seat and I honestly can say that I didn't want to blink for the duration. Director Pete Travis and company did a spectacular job of editing this insanely complex and intricately-woven piece of expert craftsmanship, the cutting room had to be an insanely frustrating and endlessly difficult place to be during the editing process of the film. it's smart, incredibly tense, super slick, mind-numbingly cool and is guaranteed to inject your veins with pure adrenaline, this one will most definitely have your heart pumping and not just for a minute...but for the ENTIRE film, Vantage Point is most definitely something to be seen for the hear originality and nonstop action throughout the whole runtime. It's an intelligent and stunningly intense thriller. First-rate, gripping entertainment thats wholesome in its cleverness an deep in its scope, a truly hypnotizing piece of filmmaking. The action throughout is really something to marvel at, a mind-bending and reality twisting political action thriller that will leave you guessing until the very end, no doubt about it. It's got your fix of action and it comes with a gigantic dose of clever twists and turns, a cat and mouse game that's unlike any other car and mouse game that I've ever seen. Very highly recommended.
The cast is huge and the action is top-notch. With excellent performances from Dennis Quaid, Forest Whitaker, Sigourney Weaver, Matthew Fox and William Hurt. Its rare that a film comes together with so many A-listers working off of each other, it's truly spectacular to see all of these talents doing what they do best all in the same movie, let alone the same scenes.
