Review of Vanity Fair (2004) by Jess A — 03 Oct 2007
I just watched this, and I liked it enough. It wasn't anything spectacular. The costumes were amazing, the setting was lovely, and they did a good job hiding Reese Witherspoon's pregnant belly, but other than that...eh. The adaptation to film/screenplay were not very good, the editing was icky and choppy and Reese Witherspoon's accents left something to be desired.
I liked her character until about 3/4 of the way through this uneccesarily long flick, but then she got bitchy and greedy. She was an anti-heroine, which was fine, but I didn't feel they got across much sympathy for the character.
