Review of Vanity Fair (2004) by Melissa H — 08 Nov 2007
Loved the film beginning to middle but then it started to get much more drawn out & sad than the movie started or you thought it would be. Didn't quite see that ending coming. Great characters in the story, Reese was fabulous in her interpretation of Becky, always incredible & never lets me down! You begin, completely enamored & drawn into her character, then slowly begin to realize how selfish she is & yet somehow cant help but feel sorry for her.
Interesting, & surprising ending. You always have the feeling that she is only just 'settling" waiting once again to climb her way to the top (which she is sometimes very good at & made success, but then sometimes surprisingly crashes & doesn't get her way) but she knows how to get on people's good side.
An inspiring character a times, convincing, conniving. Plot, sometimes confusing. Loved the love scenes in this, some of the best I have ever seen, for real. Literally so well interpreted. At times I loved the film, but wasn't completely satisfied with the ending results.
Yet, we can't help that. Beautiful costumes as well I might add! Great cast & actors 2! :).
