Review of Vanity Fair (2004) by Nathan C — 30 May 2008
A clever but socially inferior gal connives and flirts her way into high society--but at a price. The lavish costuming and scenery were sadly more interesting than the characters or the quick-step plot.
I haven't read the book, but I'm guessing that it was pretty complex and a lot was lost in the cinematic translation.
