Review of Vanishing Point (1971) by Julian H — 05 Jan 2009
Kowalski the last American hero, is a car delivery driver on a crazy mission to get a super charged Dodge Challenger from Denver to San Francisco in fifteen hours. In his way are many 'blue meanies' determined to stop him.
but is quest is aided by a collection of crazy characters, none better than 'Super soul' a blind DJ who talks to him on air and helps him become a cult hero. I love this film (not just because it has a nude blonde on a motorcycle), it's because we just don't get films like this any more.
It's simple combination of a cool car (The Dodge has to be the best sounding car in any film), stunning open desert scenery and funky 70's music, plus the Primal Scream track of the same name rocks too.
"The question is not when heâ??s gonna stop, but whoâ??s gonna stop him".
