Review of Vanishing on 7th Street (2010) by The D — 18 Mar 2011
Disappointing chiller which fails to build on a strong premise.
Without warning a blackout causes the majority of the population to seemingly be devoured by the darkness. Only a small number survive as they remained in lighted conditions. Among these are Luke(Christensen), Rosemary(Newton), Paul(Leguizamo) & James(Latimore). The four cross paths at a bar running on an independent generator while all around is blanketed in darkness.
Some arguments ensue about the best course of action & that's about it. A couple of vaguely perilous scenes follow & then an ending that provides no explanation or conclusion. Even with the cast doing their best this just plods along & then literally fades out.
