Review of Vanishing on 7th Street (2010) by David Ray G — 27 Mar 2011
Brad Anderson has let me down. Next to some of his other films, this was commonplace, mediocre and devoid of point. I liked parts of it, but found others not all that interesting. It reminded me plethora of other films, and the characters weren't that strong or original. Likable on the one hand, but we've seen such sort of characters before on the other hand.
Intriguing concept nonetheless, and it was delivered beautifully. I liked how it wasn't...ideal, in a sense. Nothing of what you want to happen or expect to happen actually happens. And unlike most people, I really loved the ending. It was abrupt, unfinished and left everything unanswered, but I still loved it.
A nice movie to watch on your spare time, but expect to forget it very soon thereafter.
