Review of Vanishing on 7th Street (2010) by Tom K — 30 Mar 2011
One of those movies that references a real life unexplained event and seems to be taking a "less is more" approach to story telling, which I think can work out very well to the story i.e.Blindness, Cloverfield and Monsters. However this ends up just being less. Most of the dialog could simply have been cut form the film, Leguizamo's character exists simply to link this movie to a real life even via a 2 min speach. I truly didn't care about any of the other characters because their weren't any, they were just cardboard archetypes stumbling and babbling around the scene.
As soon as the movie was over I Googled the real event, this story has a great hook, to bad nothing was done with it.
