Review of Vanishing on 7th Street (2010) by Michael V — 10 Nov 2011
While this movie has a good cast and even a decent and interesting concept it's missing something that would make it much better. A decent ending and some explanation. All the actors do the best job they can given what they have to work with.
And normally I don't like Hayden Christensen. I mostly still haven't forgiven him for ruining Darth Vader. But he is slowly coming around and showing he wants to be more then a pretty face. And knowing the directors previous work he had at least tried to do hidden themes here.
But in the end everything just fell apart. The problem was we really have no idea about anything going on in the movie all the way through. Even when we start seeing it first hand there is still no explanation.
But this did have some very well done moments by themselves. Especially John Leguizamo's final scene. At the end I felt unsatisfied as the movie felt rushed and incomplete. Better luck next time Mr.
Anderson. I know you can do better.
