Review of Vanilla Sky (2001) by Jordan C — 28 Feb 2010
It's a remake of the spanish film Open Your Eyes. Some people hate it, some love it. I feel different about it each time. But the one thing to know is, there is no definite middle ground for anybody as far as VS goes.
A very artful, visceral, surreal, emotional, mysterious, and intelligent film. Each time you watch it, you're gonna notice something different. Look for 1960's counterculture images/references in the compositions (Cameron Crowe also wrote/directed Almost Famous back to back with Vanilla Sky).
There are supposed to be loads.
