Review of Vanilla Sky (2001) by Jacob T — 26 Nov 2011
This movie seems to, like many inconclusive ending films, be either loved or hated.
I'm in the former camp.
The critisisms I have seen most often come from people who HATED the ambiguity of the ending; then I check out reviews of Moholland Drive, and they're absent. So weirdness for the sake of weirdness is OK or Lynch, but Crowe using weirdness for the sake of telling an unconventional story, in an unconventional setting (try to imagine and write a believeavle nightmare, I dare you) is a waste of time. Got it. You're dogmatic turds who pretend to understand Lynch because every other guy who is "really into the cinema" does.
