I detest crazy-quilt screenplays that borrow from various stories with the expectation that the audience won't realize this has been done. Example: it was the hunchback of Notre Dame who cried out the famous line, "THE BELLS! THE BELLS!!!", and NOT Mr.
Hyde. I'm willing to forgive this stuff for this film for three reasons: Hugh Jackman, and Kate Beckinsale. And no, my math is not incorrect. Enough laughs, nice special effects, gorgeous eye candy.
A very good popcorn flick. Would recommend.
