Not as graphic as the similarly themed 'Ravenous' and far more leisurely paced. Almost to the extent that it doesn't seem to ever get going, which is a shame as there is a gripping story here somewhere.
Having said that though the film looks fantastic with the washed out picture giving the Tasmanian, the Van Diemen's Land of the title, landscape an unforgiving look.
