Review of Van Diemen's Land (2009) by Ippei K — 19 Jan 2011
Slow, boring and, quite literally, dull. Sure it looks amazing. The scenery is stunningly shot, so much so that almost every frame looks like a picture. The dulled colours adds to this in great effect.
But as a movie, there just isn't enough going on to keep you interested. Not much explanation for why they resort to what they do in the end. Too artsy to be enjoyed.
