Review of Van Diemen's Land (2009) by Edwin A — 23 Jan 2010
With a truly outstanding photography, this movie is as raw as nature itself.
Sure, Van Diemen's Land is slow and apparently long (even though it isn't), but the reality it brings to light is very rough: if you were lost in some God forsaken jungle with seven other men, without any food or animals to hunt, while starvation is eating you up from the inside out and you had an axe available, this film shows you exactly what you would do. This is fear at its very best.
The survival of the fittest applies perfectly to the scenario created in Van Diemen's Land.
