Review of Vampire's Kiss (1989) by X. T — 02 Jun 2009
Not a traditonal vampire movie is the first and most important thing I can say about this movie: it's more like a predecessor to American Psycho. Nicolas Cage is amazing in his slow pregression into insantiy as Peter Lowe, an arrogant yuppie who thinks he's become a vampire.
I found it to be an interesting black comedy but this isn't a film for everyone: A lot of the movie relies upon the audience being dragged along while Peter commits one bizarre act after another. Eat your heart out, Nosferatu.
