Review of Vampire vs. Vampire (1989) by Carl M — 09 Jun 2012

Quite a fun movie. Lui Fong and Chin Siu-hou are Lam Ching Ying disciple. While fixing the roof, Lu move a pot and a parasite like monster came out. But it didn't manage to bite them. The little vampire inside a coffin is cute and know how to suck up to Lam to avoid punishment.

The trio go to subdue a banana tree spirit. Need a virgin to lure her out so Chin do it. Lui hiding under the bed didn't bother him when the spirit come to lure Chin. The spirit saw her reflection in mirror and escaped.

Lam managed to subdue her. The little vampire accidentally broke Lam precious sword. The rich village chief ask Lam to check a piece of land. He discover the water to be poisonous. Billy Lau is a army captain and Sandra Ng his girlfriend cousin.

He fell into the water and drag out branches full of bats soak in water. Lam want him to find bat cave nearby. Maria Cordero is a nun building a church in the vicinity and Billy claim her place is bat cave.

Lam go inside to visit and enter a out of bound room belonging to a priest. Only to find out the priest is already dead in skeleton kneeling position. Maria says many years ago two foreign priest came to fight demons and presume they have lost the fight and died.

The bat cave is in one of the small room but they didn't see it. Lam find a new place to build water source. After they left the marking, the bats fly in to remove it. Lui and Chin fixed the sword and want little vampire to help them steal their salary.

But Lam caught him. The nuns go to Lam place to seek help. Chin and Lui was follow by a lady ghost back home. Lam told them to settle the problem themselves or else either one will be possess by her. The duo know Lam isn't so cold hearted and let the ghost possess them.

Lui got to know how she is dead after rape by a baddie. Lam trap the ghost and ask him to keep the secret himself and to help her reincarnate. At the digging site, Billy saw a ruby. The workers pull out a corpse and its eyes is red.

Lam volunteer to burn it proper. Lui and Chin go to find the baddie killer and the police end up taking their women for bribes. They fight them all to find the female corpse but to no avail. Billy can't remove the ruby cross pierce inside the corpse and use another corpse to burn, hide it from Lam.

At night he continue his mission with Sandra and hack it off. Billy bleed and the blood is absorb by the corpse. The corpse become vampire and suck Sandra blood. The vampire is the priest and he fly off.

Maria and the other nuns are awaken by noises in the church and attack by bats. They hide inside the room and eventually force to hide under a coffin. One of the nun is outside as she had stomachache and attack by bats, she fell down slope.

Lam do ritual to find the lady corpse. They found it and the priest vampire had killed another. He nearly bite Lui, Lam try to kill him but the chinese method ain't no effect on the western vampire.

The two disciples carry the corpse and escape. At the bridge, the lady corpse is also vampire and both vampires fell off the bridge. Lam says they got the wrong corpse. Sandra try to bite Billy and Lam save him but Billy thought he is pervert.

The fallen nun find help at the house and the two disciples assist her. Sandra try to bite Lam while he is lock in cell. The little vampire go to save him. Priest vampire is transported by those bats back to the room to rest in the coffin.

Maria saw him and ask the others to quietly leave. Chin and Lui arrive and kill the bats. The priest vampire awakens and terrorise them. Lam came in time to fight the vampire. Dynamite blow up the place and it escape.

Lam chase it into forest and try burn him but its too strong. He let him sink into mud pit and finally kills it. The ending is bad and hasty.
