Dark and dreary. At the time, the visuals in this film were jaw-dropping, though now they are becoming dated. They are still good though. Cliche storyline but done with a stylistic flair that keeps it interesting.
Plenty of blood-spray and action packed sword slinging to be had. Overall, a fun anime worth viewing, just don't expect jaw-dropping CGI-type visuals.
