Review of Vampire Hunter D (1985) by Brian C — 31 Oct 2007

I took my big plunge into anime this weekend, and watched Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. I didn't really know what to expect, other than the anime cover from the video store.

While the storytelling was a bit jumpy it was quite enjoyable. Some awesome imagery and storytelling overall. The characters were well done, and the most mysterious being D himself.

Not sure what else to say really. There is a lot of plot, but I don't feel like typing for half an hour covering it all haha. Also not sure if this movie is actually considered good amongst the anime folk. It is no Overfiend, that is for sure.

But enjoyable nonetheless.
