Review of Vampire Hunter D (1985) by Thomas D — 03 Jun 2010

Vampire Hunter D is a classic anime, but it lacks in many areas. I didn't really like most of the characters. The idea and all was interesting but it could have been done a little bit better. They could have maybe made the characters less stupid and maybe just not had them talk at all.

D was awesome, the story of the Dunpir was the most interesting part, but the entire anime is very choppy and has some god awful editing! It seems like they tried to cram too much into too little of running time.

Bloodlust does have more going for it in almost every area, but part 1 is interesting to watch just to see D do his thing for the first time around, even if it is quite cheesy. 3.0 stars.
