Vampire Hunter D takes place in a nightmarish future where vampires dominate the human race. The plot centers on a woman who hires an infamous vampire hunter to slay the creature who bit her. The story, which is about as straightforward as a story can be, is supported by grim and atmospheric animation.

While a bit dated, Vampire Hunter D is still a solid pick for fans of Japanese animation.
