Review of Vampire Academy (2014) by Brian B — 10 Feb 2014
It wasn't an attempt to capture the essence of either of those films, in fact they make light of the fact that twilight was awful as a "vampire" movie, because they are not supposed to sparkle in sunlight.
All in all it wasn't an amazing movie, but it wasn't terrible either, it's an entertaining franchise that reinvents some of the historical vampiric mythos without throwing it away completely.
It was a refreshing break from recycled concepts and old school remakes and adaptations that we have seen so many of on recent years. I am interested to see the direction the series takes, and since it's focus is clearly a teen basis I think there is plenty of room for deeper subterfuge.
Which is always entertaining.
