Review of Vampire Academy (2014) by Maritza M — 16 Feb 2014
As a fan of Mead's best selling novels, I was beyond exhilarated to sit down and watch the film for the first time. My first impression while watching the beginning was, "Oh gosh, this is going to be horrible.
I'm scared." And, I admit, the first few moments are troubling, but once the movie goes into the flow (as other viewers have said), it is really good! Though some people in the cast could try harder in both acting and delivery (the woman who played Kirova) Zoey Deutch did good.
Near the end of the film I wanted to cry because it mirrored the book and it was what I imagined. If anything, Daniel Waters should stay away from writing the next script. A lot of reviews pointed out the way the introduction was written and that is my main complaint.
Also, the flashbacks were a little on the so-so side. But overall I enjoyed it and hope the next film is more polished!
